Nuchal dating scan nhs
Now NHS says that they cant arrange another scan in time.
The best they will do is to arrange a normal (or the simple) scan in next 2-3 weeks. if yes, should we inform NHS and give the report to them?
I would get the NHS to make you an appointment and see when it is.
Even if it is too late, the triple test (blood test) is available at 16 weeks and screens for Downs etc again.
No - the NHS dont need to know, unless any problems occur at the private scan.
Many of us dont get the choice of a nuchal scan either - my scan is a simple dating scan at 13 weeks, then I'll have the triple bloods at 16 weeks Thanks again for the replies. My wife hasent had a dating scan yet but we are planning for a private nuchal scan. I mean do we have to get the dating scan done before going for the nuchal scan?
thanks Vikram Hi, this happened to me in my first pregnancy.
" The scan itself will take about 15 to 30 minutes but you may need to hang about for a while in the waiting room beforehand – which can be tricky when you've just drunk all that water!
It's best to wear trousers or a skirt and a top, rather than a dress, as once you're in the (dimly lit) room, you'll be asked to lie on your back on a couch and adjust your clothes to expose your bump.
Then the sonographer will put some gel on the skin of your tummy (be ready: it’s normally freezing!
If you want to go for a private scan, Babybond is very good and has loads of branches throughout the UK and many in London.
I had my dating and nuchal test last week when i was 13 weeks and 4 days.
Also, if you already know she is 11 weeks, why do you need a dating scan?
